Hangzhou UL Inspection Center
Hangzhou UL Inspection Center was established in 1996 to provide Follow-up Services to manufacturers in Zhejiang who have obtained UL certification. UL (Underwriters Laboratories Inc.) is the primary product-safety testing and the most recognized, reputable conformity assessment providers in the world. CCIC has been in cooperation with UL since 1980, acting on UL's behalf as the sole follow-up service provider in China. With rapid increase in the number of manufacturers in Zhejiang, UL and CCIC established Hangzhou UL Inspection Center. Engineers in Hangzhou Inspection Center are all trained and approved by UL as registered field representatives. With their rich field experiences, they provide periodic inspection services to more than one thousand manufacturers in the province. Not only production and product safety are checked, help and support are also provided to manufacturers to eliminate technical barriers for access to North American markert.
Follow-up Service Program
Follow-up Service is an organic part of UL's certification process. Inspectors in Hangzhou UL Inspection Center are assigned to visit manufacturing locations in the province to check random samples of the manufacturer's current production against UL Standard and Follow-up Service Procedure. The program is designed to check and verify that the manufacturer continues to produce products in compliance with the requirements of UL.
Inspection Procedure
Whenever there is a new manufacturer or a new product category established at an existing manufacturer, UL engineering department will notify the inspection center to conduct an Initial Production Inspection (IPI) after test and evaluation on product sample is completed with conforming results. Upon receipt of the notification, Hangzhou UL Inspection Center will contact the manufacturer and arrange IPI. Manufacturers are authorized to ship products bearing UL mark noly after IPI is completed. Thereafter, unannounced regular inspection will bu carried out by Hangzhou UL Inspection Center.
